Generic WordPress speed advice doesn't fix a slow store, because WooCommerce's biggest performance problems are WooCommerce-specific. Here's what's actually happening.
Not a 40-item list assembled from affiliate payouts. These are the plugins running on the stores we build and maintain, and the reasoning behind each one.
Your ads are working, your traffic is real, and your revenue doesn't match either. The problem is almost never the traffic. It's what the traffic lands on.
High-Performance Order Storage moves your orders out of wp_posts into purpose-built tables. Big speed win, real compatibility risk. Here's the safe path across.

Common questions

WooCommerce questions we hear all the time.

Because a store does work a brochure site doesn’t. Cart, checkout and account pages can’t be page-cached, WooCommerce writes to the database on every cart action, and the cart fragments AJAX call fires on every page load. Shared hosting throttles exactly that database work. Measure TTFB on your checkout page: if it’s over 600ms, start with hosting and Redis object caching. See all nine causes.

Usually the site, not the marketing. Check in this order: mobile speed on a product page (under 50 on PageSpeed means fix that first), a mobile checkout without Apple Pay or Google Pay, product pages that hide shipping costs or reviews, forced account creation, and trust gaps like a missing return policy. Average e-commerce conversion sits between 2% and 3%, according to Dynamic Yield. Find your store’s leak.

Fewer than most lists suggest. Our production stack has twelve: WooPayments or Stripe, CheckoutWC, WooCommerce Subscriptions, Wholesale Suite, FunnelKit, WP Rocket, Imagify, WP Activity Log, Wordfence, WP All Import, Klaviyo and Rank Math SEO. We leave out add-on bundles and multipurpose plugins, since every plugin is code your store loads on every request. See why each one made the list.

Usually expired or declined cards, broken payment tokens after a gateway change, or WP-Cron not firing on schedule. Involuntary churn from cards makes up about a third of all subscription churn in Recurly’s benchmarks. Turn on automatic card updates at the gateway, set retry rules, run a real server cron and send transactional email through an authenticated service so failed-payment emails don’t land in spam. See all seven fixes.
