Gutenberg WordPress development. Built on core.
No page builder license, third-party dependency or added JavaScript weight. We build blocks and Full Site Editing setups that give editors full control, without plugins.
Our approach
WordPress native, built to the block API standard.
Custom blocks in React. Block themes in theme.json. FSE setups with no page builder license and no third-party dependency. Every project scoped first, quoted fixed. If a page builder suits you better, we’ll tell you.
What we do
Gutenberg services for WordPress-native companies.
Custom block development
React blocks matched to your design system: hero sections, testimonials, pricing tables, feature grids, CTAs, and reusable patterns. Built on the WordPress Block API for current and future block themes.
Full Site Editing (FSE) implementation
Move headers, footers, sidebars, and templates into the block editor. Give editors global layout control without code or a separate panel, while keeping it simple.
Block patterns library
Reusable layouts editors can insert as starting points. Speed up page creation and maintain design consistency without rigid templates.
Block theme development
Custom block themes using theme.json, FSE templates, and Global Styles. Editors can adjust design without CSS. A modern alternative to classic and child themes.
Classic to block theme migration
Migrate PHP-based classic themes and the Customizer to block themes and FSE. Preserve the existing design while unlocking modern editing.
Block editor optimization
Speed up and simplify Gutenberg. Remove unused blocks and clutter, resolve conflicts, and tailor the editor to your content types.
Gutenberg vs. Elementor
When Gutenberg makes more sense than a page builder.
Choose Gutenberg if you have a React team, want independence from third-party plugins, run a large editorial operation, or build on WordPress VIP.
-
No third-party dependency
WordPress core handles the editor. No Elementor license, plugin bloat, or page-builder compatibility issues when WordPress updates. -
Better performance baseline
No Elementor JavaScript bundle on the frontend. Block CSS loads only for blocks used on each page. -
Built for where WordPress is going
Gutenberg, the block editor, and Full Site Editing are now part of WordPress core and will continue to expand. -
Higher initial development cost
Custom blocks take React development. Elementor gives non-technical editors more design freedom out of the box. -
Smaller ecosystem
Elementor has more templates and add-ons. Gutenberg's ecosystem is growing, but isn't at the same level yet.
Our process
How our Gutenberg project runs.
01
Scope the build
We map the blocks, patterns, and templates your editors need, and review your current theme and editor setup.
02
Fixed quote
You get one price against a written scope. Simple block sets cost less; full FSE systems cost more.
03
Build on staging
Blocks, patterns, and the block theme are built and tested on staging, so your editors can try everything before launch.
04
Launch and handover
We launch, verify the site, and walk your team through the block library and Global Styles. They can build pages without code.
Pricing
What Gutenberg development costs.
Pricing depends on how many custom blocks and patterns you need. All work is fixed price after a free scoping call, and you approve the number before work begins.

Common questions
Gutenberg development questions, answered.
Yes. The Gutenberg editor is built in React, and custom blocks are built using React and WordPress’s block API (the @wordpress/blocks and @wordpress/block-editor packages). The save function can output static HTML, but the edit function, what the editor sees while building, is a React component. A developer who knows PHP and jQuery can learn Gutenberg block development, but it requires modern JavaScript knowledge. This is one reason Elementor remains popular for agencies without React developers on staff.
Full Site Editing (FSE) extends the block editor to cover the entire page, including headers, footers, sidebars, and archive templates, not just the content area. With FSE, editors can modify global site elements without a theme customizer or separate options panel. Whether you need it depends on how much control you want to give editors over layout. For sites where only the content area changes, FSE may be more than needed. For sites where multiple editors maintain different sections of the site’s global layout, FSE provides useful granular control.
Technically yes, Elementor and Gutenberg can coexist. In practice, we recommend choosing one for page editing and sticking with it. Mixing creates confusion for editors who have to know which editor to use for which page, creates inconsistent design output, and can cause conflicts. If you want the performance benefits of Gutenberg for most content but need Elementor for specific complex pages, we can configure that, but we’ll document the editorial workflow clearly so your team doesn’t accidentally edit an Elementor page in the wrong editor.
It depends on how many custom blocks and patterns you need, quoted as a fixed price after scoping. Simple block sets are affordable; full site editing systems cost more. You approve the number before work begins.
Gutenberg is native to WordPress, so it’s lighter, faster, and free of the extra overhead builders add. For teams that value performance and durability, native blocks avoid lock-in to a third-party plugin.
Yes. We build tailored blocks and patterns that match your brand and content types, so editors assemble on-brand pages from reusable pieces without breaking the design or touching code.
Yes. Because it outputs clean, lightweight markup without a builder’s extra assets, Gutenberg tends to load faster, which helps Core Web Vitals and rankings. We optimize further with images, caching, and lean code.
Yes. We migrate content out of a builder like Elementor, Divi, or WPBakery into native blocks, removing the plugin overhead. The result is usually a faster, cleaner, more maintainable site.
Yes, especially with custom blocks and patterns tailored to your content. We set up a guided editing experience and provide training, so your team publishes confidently without design mishaps.
Yes. When the editor is slow, blocks conflict, or editors scroll past dozens of blocks they never use, we lock down the block library, remove editor noise and tune the editing experience to your content types.
