WordPress Maintenance

So your website doesn’t go down at 2 AM and you find out at 10, when a customer emails.

We watch it every day: updates tested on a staging copy first, uptime checked every hour, daily offsite backups. Flat monthly rate.

Our approach

Every update runs on a copy of your site first.

Uptime monitoring checks your site every hour. Daily offsite backups keep a clean restore point. Every plan runs month to month, and we take over sites built by anyone, after an audit that documents what’s there.

What's actually included

"Update All" is how sites break.

We run a staging copy of your site. Updates go there first. We test checkout, forms, and layout, then push the same updates live. Anything that breaks, breaks on the copy.

What happens when something breaks?

1

Our monitoring system detects the issue within the hour.

2

You get an automatic alert by email. We get one too, and we start working on it.

3

If we caused it with an update, we roll back immediately. If it’s a hosting or external issue, we diagnose and escalate.

4

You get a summary: what happened, what we did, what changes so it stays fixed.

The risk of doing nothing

What happens to unmaintained WordPress sites.

WordPress runs 59% of all sites built on a CMS. Shopify, the next one down, runs 5.3%. That share is why the automated attacks aim here, and why an unpatched plugin is an open door.

Hacked sites from outdated plugins

91% of WordPress vulnerabilities live in plugins. The patch usually exists before the attack does. It just sits unapplied. We apply them every month, on every plan.

Downtime that runs all night

Your host has a bad night at 2 AM. Hourly monitoring catches it within the hour and alerts you. Without it, the first alert is a customer email at 10.

Broken layouts after a plugin update

A WooCommerce update conflicts with your checkout plugin. An Elementor update shifts your homepage layout. We test updates on staging before applying them to your live site.

The only backup is two years old

Recovering a hacked site from a stale backup means rebuilding the gap by hand, page by page. We run daily backups stored off your server.

Testimonials
What happens when nobody is watching

The vendor stopped watching. The host deleted the site.

An outside vendor was maintaining the site when malware warnings started arriving. The warnings went unanswered. The host took the site offline, then purged it and the stored backup together. That was 2,800 pages, with $50,000 a month in Google Ads still running to dead pages. We rebuilt it from the Internet Archive in 5 days.

Our process

How we take over the care of your site.

01

Audit

We review your site first: what’s installed, what’s outdated, what’s risky. If something needs fixing before we can maintain it safely, we tell you and quote it separately.

02

Pick a plan

We match the plan to your site, so you pay for the hours it actually needs. Month to month, 30 days’ notice to cancel.

03

Setup

We set up offsite backups, uptime monitoring, security scanning, and a staging copy for testing updates. Then we document your setup.

04

Ongoing care

Updates run every month. They go to staging first, then live. Monitoring checks the site every hour, and you get a monthly report of what we did.

Maintenance and security guides.

What a maintenance plan should include, what it should cost, and which security steps actually matter.

WordPress sites don't maintain themselves. Without a regular maintenance routine, plugins fall out of date, databases bloat, backups stop working, and security vulnerabilities accumulate. Here's the complete maintenance task list, organized by frequency.
Maintenance plans run anywhere from $30 to $1,500 a month, and the price tells you almost nothing. Here's what each tier should include and where the traps are.
WordPress security advice on the internet ranges from good to genuinely counterproductive. This guide covers the real attack vectors against WordPress sites and the specific configuration steps that address them.
Common questions

Maintenance plan questions, answered.

Yes. Most of what we maintain was built elsewhere. We start with an audit: what’s installed, what’s outdated, what’s risky, all documented. Anything that has to be fixed before we can maintain the site safely gets flagged and quoted separately.

Development work beyond updates, backups, and monitoring: a new page, a design change, a new form. Unused hours roll over for one month. We track usage and tell you before you reach the limit.

Yes, at a reduced rate for plan clients. If you’re going over most months, upgrading usually works out cheaper, and we’ll say so rather than quietly billing the overage.

Month to month. Give 30 days’ notice and the final month is the last thing you pay. You leave with a handover document covering your whole setup, so the next team starts informed.

Maintenance is separate from hosting. We maintain sites regardless of where they’re hosted, though we’ll flag if your hosting is creating problems. If you want us to manage hosting as well, we can set you up on a recommended environment, billed separately from your maintenance plan.

Starter $99/month, Professional $249/month, Business $499/month. Higher plans add developer hours. We match the plan to your site so you pay for the hours it actually needs.

Every plan covers core, theme and plugin updates tested on staging first, daily offsite backups with quarterly restore tests and failure alerts, weekly security scanning, hourly uptime monitoring, email support, and a monthly report. Professional adds developer hours and malware removal. Business adds more developer hours, WooCommerce monitoring, and phone and Slack access.

Maintenance runs on a schedule regardless: updates, backups, monitoring. Support handles what you send in. Plans include both, so the site is looked after and you have a developer to contact.

Yes, on every plan. Updates run on a staging copy first. We check checkout, forms and layout, then push the same updates live.
