Common questions
Often, once a store has real volume. WooCommerce software is free and takes no cut of revenue; you pay for hosting, a payment gateway and any premium plugins. Shopify charges a monthly plan ($39 to $399 billed monthly as of October 2026) plus 0.6-2% per sale if you don’t use Shopify Payments. Under $100K a year, Shopify’s simplicity may be worth the premium. Above $200K, WooCommerce often wins on total cost. See the full cost comparison.

Products, variants, images, customers and order history move across, and each Shopify URL gets a 301 redirect to its WooCommerce equivalent. One catch: Shopify doesn’t export passwords, so customers set a new one on first login. See our Shopify to WooCommerce process.
