About the Client
The European Madero Association (EMA) exists to standardize maderotherapy worldwide. It keeps training consistent, certifies therapists, and sets standards as the field grows. Education is central to that mission, and most of it happens online.
The Association had built an audience in one market and wanted to take its training global. That required a platform that could sell, teach, translate, certify, and process payments across markets without making every change dependent on a developer.
The Challenge
Going global meant solving four connected problems at once.
The platform needed to run courses, track progress, and issue certificates. It also needed to sell those courses through WooCommerce, support six languages, accept different currencies and payment methods, and meet requirements across the US and EU.
The difficult part wasn’t building each feature separately. It was making them work as one system that the Association’s team could manage day to day.
A student in Belgrade, Berlin, or Boston needed to be able to find a course, pay in their own currency, complete the training, and receive certification through the same platform.
Our Approach
The new platform runs on WordPress and Elementor, with WooCommerce handling sales and LearnDash running the courses. The systems are connected so buying a course automatically enrolls the student and unlocks their lessons.
-
Built the academy in LearnDash
The platform holds the full course library: Bodyshape, Beauty, Wellness, Feet, and Detox Madero, alongside live courses. Students can work through lessons, track progress, and receive certificates on completion. -
Translated the platform into six languages
The site and every course are available in English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, and Serbian. We also implemented hreflang so search engines can identify and rank the correct language version instead of treating translations as duplicates. -
Added multi-currency checkout
Prices are shown and charged in the buyer's currency. Students don't have to calculate exchange rates before completing a purchase. -
Created custom content types for the field
Instructors, certified therapists, certificates, events, and techniques each have dedicated structures. The Association can manage this information as a living directory instead of maintaining static pages. -
Built course landing pages for conversion
Each course line has its own tailored landing page, built in Elementor so the marketing team can update the pages without a developer's help.
Payments were addressed separately
Selling internationally meant one payment method wasn’t enough. The new checkout now supports three routes, each covering a different type of buyer:
-
Stripe
International card payments and the default route for most markets. -
Apple Pay and Google Pay
For buyers who prefer digital wallets, particularly on mobile. -
NestPay bank gateway
Regional card processing through the payment platform used by local banks for their online merchants. The integration had to follow the bank's own 3-D Secure card flow rather than a standard modern API.
All three payment routes work through the same WooCommerce checkout and support the relevant currencies and reconciliation requirements.
Compliance across two jurisdictions
Selling courses in both the US and EU meant the platform couldn’t be built around one market’s requirements.
We aligned data handling, consent, checkout, and policy pages with EU GDPR and applicable US requirements.
The Association can now take payments from both sides of the Atlantic without running two separate platforms or leaving compliance requirements outside the build.
The Outcome and Value
The Association can sell and deliver its full curriculum worldwide from one platform, opening its training to more students without adding operational complexity.
Students can access courses in six languages, pay in their own currency through three payment routes, complete training through LearnDash, and receive certification on completion.
The Association’s team can manage courses and marketing updates themselves, reducing day-to-day developer dependency and keeping the platform moving without technical bottlenecks.
With fewer barriers to purchase and a platform built to sell globally, the website can reach more students and turn that wider reach into more course sales, while cutting down internal operational costs.
