Recurring billing · Memberships · SaaS · Boxes
WooCommerce subscriptions for billing models plugins don't cover.
Sell once and bill for years.
Memberships, subscription boxes, software licenses, maintenance plans. If it bills on a schedule, we’ll configure it, customize it, and extend it to fit how you actually bill.
Our approach
Recurring billing has to work every time, not just on launch day.
The first payment is easy. It’s the fourteenth that breaks the cycle. A gateway that doesn’t support recurring tokens, a proration rule nobody tested, a failed card that quietly cancels a paying customer.
So we check gateway compatibility before any other decision gets made, then test the full lifecycle: trials, sign-up fees, proration, retry schedules, and the portal your subscribers use to manage their own plans.
We break the billing on purpose, so it doesn’t break on you.
What we do
Subscription models we've already built.
Membership sites
Gated content, courses, templates, research, community, premium editorial. Subscriptions handles the billing; Memberships or MemberPress handles who gets in. Trials, pause and resume, and tiered access, all set up so your team can change them without calling us.
Subscription boxes and replenishment
Monthly or quarterly boxes, billed and shipped on schedule. Wired into your fulfillment so a renewal triggers the packing list and the tracking email. And nobody on your team is retyping orders into a spreadsheet.
Software and license subscriptions
License key issued on purchase, renewal billing, access suspended when payment fails. Built with Software License Manager or Lemon Squeezy, so an expired card closes the door instead of costing you a seat.
Service retainers
Monthly billing for agencies, consultants, maintenance providers, and professional services. Invoices and payment confirmations that reflect your brand, not a default WooCommerce template.
Upgrade and downgrade flows
When the customer jumps from basic to premium mid-cycle, the math has to be right: proration calculated, charged or credited, on the correct date. This is where subscription stores quietly generate support tickets. We test every switch so nobody has to email you about their invoice.
Failed payment and dunning management
Most churn isn’t a decision. It’s an expired card. We set up the retries, the reminder emails, and the grace period that catches those customers before the subscription lapses. This can recover 5 to 15% of failed charges. On recurring revenue, that’s a raise nobody had to sell for.
Technical implementation notes
Where most subscription builds go wrong.
01
Payment gateway compatibility
Not every WooCommerce gateway supports tokenized recurring billing. Stripe, PayPal Reference Transactions, and Authorize.Net CIM do. Plenty don’t, and most store owners find out after the architecture is set. We check yours first.
02
Free trial and sign-up fees
A trial period, a fee charged only on the first cycle, several products on one subscription. Each one is a configuration that has to survive the whole payment lifecycle, not just look correct on the settings screen.
03
Proration and billing dates
Mid-cycle plan changes trigger proration. And billing everyone on the 1st, versus billing each subscriber on their own anniversary, changes your cash flow and your support inbox in different ways. We’ll tell you which suits your business before we set it.
04
Subscriber portal
Pause, cancel, update the card, switch plans, all from My Account without emailing you. Every one of those handled by the customer is a support ticket that never gets written.
Our process
How it works.
01
Scope
We map your plans, billing rules, gateway, and integrations, and verify that your payment gateway supports tokenized recurring billing before any architecture decision is made.
02
Fixed quote
A fixed price on a written scope. No hourly billing, no open-ended estimate, no scope creep conversation in week six.
03
Build on staging
Products, billing, emails, and the subscriber portal, all configured on staging. Then we run the full payment lifecycle through it: trials, renewals, failed payments, and plan switches.
04
Launch and verify
We go live, run real transactions through the flow, and stick around for the cycles nobody tests.
Pricing
How pricing works, before you ask.
Price depends on scope and what your business needs: a standard subscriptions setup, memberships plus subscriptions with gated content, a complex build with multi-tier plans, custom dunning, or migration from another platform. Every project is fixed price after a free scoping call. The WooCommerce Subscriptions plugin license is billed separately by WooCommerce and is not part of the project price.

Common questions
The questions that come up first.
If you’re already on WooCommerce with a product catalog, Subscriptions is usually the right call. It sits inside the store you own, with your existing orders and customer accounts, and no per-transaction platform fee. If you’re starting from scratch and a subscription is the product, Stripe Billing, Chargebee, or Paddle have deeper subscription tooling but need their own storefront. Selling both one-time and recurring products? WooCommerce is almost always cleaner.
Yes, and they should be able to. Subscribers can pause from My Account and resume when they’re ready, and you control whether pausing is allowed, how long it lasts, and what access they keep meanwhile. A customer who can pause takes a break. A customer who can only cancel leaves.
Most often yes, but it depends on payment tokens. If your subscribers are billed through Stripe, Stripe holds their payment tokens, and we can bring subscribers across without anyone re-entering a card. Other processors depend on whether they allow token portability. We will assess this before we scope the migration, because if the tokens can’t move, the migration costs you more subscribers than it saves in fees.
It depends on your plans, billing rules, and integrations. Standard setups are straightforward; complex billing and migrations cost more. Either way, you get a fixed price before you commit to anything.
Yes. Pause, upgrade, downgrade, update payment details, cancel: all from their account area. Less support load for you, and fewer people canceling because it was easier than emailing.
Yes. Failed charges get retried automatically, and customers get prompted to update their card before the subscription lapses. We configure the retry schedule and the email sequence around how your business actually bills.
Yes. Trials, sign-up fees, and different billing intervals are built in, and we can add usage-based or tiered plans on top. We build the billing model your product needs instead of reshaping your pricing to suit a plugin.
Yes. Recurring billing runs through PCI-compliant gateways like Stripe that store the payment token, so card data never touches your server. With SSL and a hardened host, stored payment methods meet all the necessary standards.
Yes. Subscribers get charged in their own currency on a recurring schedule, through a gateway that handles the conversion.
You decide. Retries run on a schedule you set, the reminder emails go out, and after a grace period, the subscription lapses and access closes automatically. Nobody keeps receiving the product for free, and nobody gets locked out the same afternoon their card expires.
