Managed Hosting for Your WordPress Site
It only works when the hosting environment is right.
The wrong host can be the reason your site is slow, goes down, or becomes harder to maintain. We’ve migrated hundreds of WordPress sites and know what different hosting environments mean for performance, security, and maintenance.
Our approach
Traffic, revenue, risk tolerance. Those pick the host.
Recommendations come from 200+ migrations and audits, and from what each environment does to a real site under real load. If your current host is the bottleneck, we move you with zero downtime.
What we do
Six environments. Here's where each one fits.
WP Engine
Our first recommendation for most business sites. Automatic backups, staging environments, a built-in CDN, and WordPress-specific caching. More expensive than shared hosting but worth it when your site is generating revenue.
Kinsta
Google Cloud infrastructure with a polished dashboard. Kinsta is a strong alternative to WP Engine, particularly for e-commerce sites and sites with predictable high traffic. Good staging and multisite support.
Cloudways
A middle tier between shared hosting and fully managed. You choose the cloud provider (DigitalOcean, AWS, Google Cloud) and Cloudways handles WordPress management. Good where the budget is fixed and the performance requirement isn’t.
Flywheel
Particularly good for agencies managing multiple client sites. Clean client portal, easy collaboration, and local development environment (Local by Flywheel). Now owned by WP Engine, so similar infrastructure.
SiteGround
The shared host we’d pick if budget is a hard constraint. We’ve moved clients here from GoDaddy, Bluehost and Hostinger and measured the difference.
VPS for high-traffic sites
For sites with consistent traffic over 100K visits/month or complex WooCommerce operations, a properly configured VPS (DigitalOcean Droplet, AWS Lightsail) often outperforms managed hosting at lower cost. We configure and maintain these.
73%
of slow sites we audit are on shared hosting

40%
of the hacked sites we clean were on hosts under $10/month

Hosts to avoid
Four hosts we move clients off, and why.
Our income from every host on this list is the same: zero. What follows is what we measure on client sites, audit after audit.
GoDaddy shared hosting
The slowest hosting in our audits, consistently. Aggressive upsells, PHP versions that lag current, and staging you have to build yourself. Keep your domain there. Move the hosting.
Bluehost
Owned by EIG (now Newfold Digital), same as HostGator and dozens of other hosts on shared infrastructure. PageSpeed scores on Bluehost sites are consistently in the 20s to 40s range on mobile in our audits.
Hostinger
The low price pulls a lot of clients in. Server response times are slow in our audits and support is slow to resolve anything. For a revenue-generating site, the monthly saving is smaller than the first hour of downtime.
Any host under $5/month
At that price you share a server with hundreds of other sites, and their traffic spikes become your slow afternoons. “You are the product” is the honest description.
What a hosting migration looks like
- We clone your live site to a staging environment on the new host
- We test the staged site against your DNS before any live changes
- We configure caching, CDN, and performance settings on the new host
- We update DNS during a low-traffic window (usually late night)
- We monitor the live site for 24 hours post-migration
$299 flat, any size site.
Cloning, staging, DNS cutover, performance setup on the new host, and 24 hours of monitoring after. Zero downtime across 200+ migrations.
Our process
How a hosting move works, start to finish.
01
Audit
A free audit shows where the bottleneck actually is: the host, the build, the plugins, or the images. Often it’s the images.
02
Recommendation
We recommend a host that fits your traffic and budget and give you a fixed price for the move before anything starts.
03
Migrate on staging
We clone your site to the new host, test it against your DNS before any live changes, and configure caching, CDN, and performance settings.
04
Cut over and monitor
DNS switches during a low-traffic window, and we monitor the live site for 24 hours after the move.

Common questions
Hosting questions we get all the time.
Usually, though hosting is only half of it. A slow host raises your server response time, and TTFB is the one number WordPress optimization leaves untouched. Hosting sets the ceiling; your images and plugins decide how close you get to it. The free audit tells you which is costing you more, before you spend on either.
No. Both sites run in parallel until DNS propagates. For 15 to 30 minutes some visitors still land on the old host, and both copies are live and working the whole time, so every visitor reaches a working site. Across 200+ migrations that has held every time.
Rarely. Registrars like GoDaddy, Namecheap and Network Solutions sell hosting as an upsell to the domain, and in our audits it underperforms dedicated managed WordPress hosts at the same price. Keep your domain where it is. Move the hosting.
Cloudways runs $11 to $15/month on a basic DigitalOcean Droplet. WP Engine starts at $25 to $30. Kinsta starts around $35. Those are single-site prices, and volume pricing exists if you run several. Against $5 to $10 shared hosting, the step up costs roughly $300 a year, and it buys caching, security and updates handled at the server level. That’s the number to weigh against what an hour offline costs you.
Yes, through a custom plan. Hosting management is not part of our standard maintenance plans, which cover your site on whatever host you use. We set up the hosting, monitor it, handle security patches, and deal with the host’s support so you don’t have to. The hosting account is always in your name; we just manage it on your behalf.
WP Engine for most business sites. Kinsta for WooCommerce and predictable high traffic. Cloudways when the budget is fixed. SiteGround when it’s fixed and tight. A configured VPS once you’re consistently over 100K visits a month. The cards above cover the reasoning for each.
Find out whether it's the host.
We’ll audit the site and tell you what your hosting is doing to your speed and your security. If the problem is somewhere else, we’ll tell you that instead.
